Whats In The Photo:

Low-level aerial photo of a strange, frozen "waterfall" of mud near the head of Garden Gulch. This may be one of several spills of drilling fluid from natural-gas drillsites that were reported in February 2007, or it may be caused by muddy runoff from the gas-drilling roads and pipeline route(?) seen above the rim. Note backhoes and other equipment working on the rim above the brown "waterfall." Photo by Pete Kolbenschlag, taken during an EcoFlight flyover on March 19, 2008. See the DNR's 3/6/08 press release on the spills at http://dnr.state.co.us/newsapp/press.asp?pressid=4783 and related story at http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/19/2301/62661/623/480436 for more information.
