Landsat satellite image showing simulated CBM development of the southern part of the area in an oblique view to the northeast. Simulation illustrates the Bureau of Land Management's "preferred alternative" for this area: 1,800 coalbed methane wells and 125 other wells, located on individual well pads that are about 2 acres in size, and connected by a network of new and existing, upgraded access roads. The closest well spacing shown is one well every 80 acres.
