Whats In The Photo:3D perspective view looking towards the south, showing the Jonah natural gas field as it appeared in 1986. Paved highway 191 is dark gray line running along the left side. A dirt road (pale line) leads to a single well pad (triangular, pale gray spot) just left of center in the foreground. Sapphire-blue spots in the right foreground are probably small stock ponds. Arid sagebrush and grasslands are shades of reddish brown to blue-gray; barren badlands are nearly white. Scale varies in this perspective image. Foreground is 7 miles across. Landsat satellite image combined with digital elevation data.
